Werner Baller is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of WEBA, a leading global producer of bulk material transfer chutes. WEBA's 300-odd talented employees serve hundreds of clients in more than 10 countries worldwide.

Mr. Baller has more than 27 years' experience in transfer chute systems and more than 45 years total experience in the mining and engineering industries, and has developed nine patented products including the WEBA Chute System.

He founded WEBA in 1984 when he purchased M&J Engineering in South Africa (now known as WEBA South Africa), a small mining supply firm specialising in underground coal mining equipment.

Recognising a need in the industry, Mr. Baller was a true visionary who steered the company to specialise in bulk material transfer and transformed it to become what it is today: renowned as a producer of the best quality transfer chutes in the world.

During the early 1990s the company conducted a comprehensive study into the negative and cost-incurring aspects of conventional chute design and then set about designing a transfer chute which would eliminate these problems.

The result led to the birth of the WEBA Transfer Chute System – a patented, streamlined, scientific approach to the dynamics of bulk materials handling at transfer points.
WEBA brand is derived from the first name and surname of Werner Baller. The WEBA Transfer System, is a streamlined scientific approach to the dynamics of Bulk Material Handling for Transfer Points and was patented in 1991.

In continually improving the development of WEBA Chute Systems and Solutions various other patents have been lodged over the years, the latest of which is the WEBA Swing Chute, Patent 2013/09648.

Today, WEBA’s 300 odd talented employees – including engineers, designers, planners, draftsmen, procurement and management professionals along with WEBA’s in-house manufacturing staff and site maintenance personnel – serve hundreds of clients in more than 10 countries around the world.

The company has established offices in South Africa, Australia and the USA which are dedicated to providing transfer chute solutions globally, delivering products to Europe, Asia, Australia, South Africa, USA and South America.
